Wolf Coffee Makers allow you to make truly delicious coffee easily with very little fuss. These machines, with their sturdy build and sleek design, offer a variety of features that elevate the process of making drip coffee to new heights.

However, since most of us use our coffee makers daily, regular cleaning will be necessary if you want your machine to deliver its full potential. Otherwise, you are more than likely going to end up with a pot of foul-tasting coffee and a short-lived appliance.

Today, I’m going to explain how to clean your Wolf Coffee machine, in an effortless, inexpensive, and no-nonsense kind of way.

How To Clean Wolf Coffee Maker

To clean your Wolf Coffee Maker simply follow the steps below:

  1. Use a lightly dampened sponge to gently wipe the control panel and display.
  2. Next, take a non-abrasive cleaner (Magic, Weiman, and Brillo all make fantastic products) and wipe the exterior metal surface, making sure to follow the grain of the stainless steel.
  3. For the non-stainless steel surfaces, use a damp cloth to wipe away any accumulated dirt and grime. For the best results, use a lint-free cloth and avoid using abrasive metal pads at all costs.
  4. To clean the thermal carafe use a gentle, dish soap and hand-wash it with a soft sponge in warm water. Using soapy water will help you remove that annoying greasy residue left by drip-brewed coffee, but make sure that the carafe is completely cool before washing to avoid potential burns and warping of the metal. Under no circumstances should you use steel wool, scouring pads, or harsh detergents.
  5. Follow the same hand-washing procedure for the water reservoir. Make sure to use a gentle, dish soap and a soft sponge to work at any visible spots or smudges. Your Wolf Coffee Maker’s water reservoir should be cleaned after every use.
  6. Finally, the filter basket, which needs to be washed after every cycle as well, can be hand washed or cleaned in the dishwasher.

This is the basic procedure to clean your Wolf Coffee Maker and should be done regularly for the best results. However, after about 300 use cycles, the delicate internal systems of your Wolf Coffee Maker will need to be cleaned to remove the scale buildup.

Clean the reservoir of your Wolf Coffee machine

Thankfully, the folks at Wolf have pre-programmed a fantastic CLEAN function that automatically cleans the inside of your coffee maker at the push of a button.

How To Use The Wolf Coffee Maker’s CLEAN Setting

The Clean function of your Wolf Coffee Maker will appear automatically after 300 cycles and consists of 3 separate stages whose purpose is to clean the interior mechanisms of the coffee maker and remove any accumulated mineral deposits.

The CLEAN function is very straightforward and only requires that you add some plain white vinegar into the coffee maker’s water reservoir when prompted. The function will also indicate when water needs to be added to the system to flush the vinegar and finish the cleaning process.

Wolf Coffee Makers have a CLEAN Setting

While the Wolf Coffee Maker’s display will guide you through the CLEAN function, it is important that you understand the sequence of steps.

First, remove the filter to prevent it from absorbing any vinegar. Then, turn the mode selector to CLEAN and pour 3/4 cup of white vinegar into the reservoir, then fill the rest of the reservoir with clean water.

Next, place the water reservoir into the system and press the Start button. The coffee maker will go into the first stage of the CLEAN function. This initial stage lasts 20 minutes.

Once the 1st stage is complete, the coffee maker will prompt you to add water to the reservoir until you fill it completely (don’t forget to empty the carafe, otherwise it will overflow and create a mess).

Prest Start once more to activate the second stage of the CLEAN function. This second stage lasts 5 minutes and flushes any residual vinegar from the system.

At the end of the second stage, you will be prompted to add water once more and press Start to begin the final stage.

The third stage is basically a rerun of the second and lasts 5 minutes as well.

Make sure to clean the inside of your coffee maker

Once all 3 stages have been completed the CLEAN function is finished and your newly cleaned Wolf Coffee Maker is ready to brew some hot delicious drip coffee again.

Enjoy!
